Howard University Bethune Dining Hall

Design Purpose:

The limited space of the site due to the close proximity of the surronding buildings brought forth ideas of snakes coiling / permeating through this tight urban landscape. The concept and the costum fritted glass create directed panoramic views, controlled natural light, and a stark contrast between existing & new. One of a few dining choices on Howard’s campus, this 600 seat dining hall, is in the middle of their expanding residential core.

This design was created at EYP in a collaborative environment by a talented team of architects & interior designers which included the design lithe of Charles W. Jacobs Jr.
