Design Lithe LLC was commissioned to renovate a 2 lot 2 story office / residences space, totallying 4708 SF, into a single lot 1st floor upscale bar / lounge / restaurant called Spile & Spigot Tap House and Blue Diner, a 2nd floor traditional 24 hour diner with modern flare. Architecturally, the first floor is replaced w/ clean lines of expansive glass within a uniquely operable dark metal storefront system and Ipe wood rain screen to carve out the street cafe that also sets the tone for the industrial interior. The 2nd floor would maintain its original brick skin, but the windows would become operable french doors and Juliet balconies w/ tension wire railings. Its ground level white traditional entrance highlights the existence of the 2nd story diner. The Spile & Spigot themed patio (to be shared by both restaurants), bar, modern furniture and light fixtures, will contrast Blue Diner's traditional tone.
